Truck Fair: Thursday, April 17th
When is the Truck Fair?
Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 9:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. What is a Truck Fair?
What is a Truck Fair?
Truck Fairs highlight careers that use trucks or other transportation vehicles as part of their day-to-day workplace activities. The fair will allow students to see work vehicles up close and to speak with those who use/work on them. The goal is for students to gain an appreciation for careers in the many industries that depend on travel or transportation to function within the marketplace.
How will Mills Park Middle School’s Truck Fair Work?
Area businesses will send a vehicle from their industry along with one or two employees. Groups of about 15 students will “visit” five trucks for ten to fifteen minutes. Students will view the vehicle and talk with the business/organization representative about their career and the importance that the vehicle has in their daily work.
Please be sure to purchase the novel Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick by Monday, March 3rd.

Also, if you student has a zero for an assignemnt they feel they turned in it is in one of two places. 1. My No Name Board (no name, no grade) or 2. Student's Binder/Locker. Remember, this is early in the year, and missing one assignment does greatly hurt your child's grade due to the lack of points thus far; please stress this to them.
I DO NOT accept late homework. Students are responsbile for turning in their work on time and complete. Please encourage your child to speak with his/her teacher regarding matters of their grade. We are really pushing for them to advocate for themselves this year!
If you have a larger concern, and would like to set up a conference with your child's team teachers please email me at [email protected]. Thank you for your continued support.

Hallway of Heroes is UP!
Students had the opportunity to study the events of 9/11 in language arts this year. As a result, they wrote letters of gratitude to local fire and police service men and women, thanking them for their dedication and sacrifice to the Cary community. Below is the result of all 600+ student thank you letters. A copy was sent to service men and women and a copy was kept here to create the hallway display. Please come by and take a closer look!
